Getting to Edinburgh

Edinburgh Airport has connections to all major European cities as well as direct flights from North America and the Middle East. Regular flights to London Heathrow and Amsterdam Schipol offer worldwide connections. Information about getting to and from the airport is available.

There are regular train services to Edinburgh, see the Getting Here page for more information. Waverley Station is about 10 minutes' walk from Surgeons' Hall.

Getting to and from Surgeons' Hall

It is very easy to get to the Surgeons' Hall from the airport.

The tram takes about 35 minutes from the airport to Princes Street (about 15 minutes' walk to Surgeons' Hall) and costs £6.00 single, £8.50 return. You must buy your ticket at the stop before you board and the ticket machines accept cards.

Alternatively, take the Airlink 100 bus to Waverley Bridge, which takes about 30 minutes. It costs £4.50 single or £7.50 for an open return. You pay in cash on the bus (no cards). Unlike the tram, the bus can be affected by traffic. Waverley Bridge is only 10 minutes' walk to Surgeons' Hall.

Alternatively you can get a taxi which would take about 25 minutes (depending on traffic) and cost £25. Edinburgh does not have Uber.
